Membership Information

ArtMap Argyll is a group formed to support the activity of visual artists and makers in Argyll.

The objectives of the group are:

• To create and motivate an actively participating artists’ group
• To provide a supportive and professional network for artists in Argyll encouraging verbal and critical debate
• To raise awareness of what artists do and how they contribute to the community
• To develop dialogue between artists and the public/community
• To encourage the development of opportunities for artists in Argyll and beyond

Full Membership application is open to any practising artist or maker in Argyll who supports the objectives of the group and who fit some or all of the following criteria:

• Active involvement and commitment to professional development and practice
• Commitment to open studio event/gallery show
• Professional regard among peers
• Exhibition History
• Publications; reviews, articles, catalogues, leaflets etc
• Art Training
• Related professional experience
• Awards, scholarships, grants
• Commissions
• Work represented in public collections
• Access to email (essential)

Full members will be eligible for a page in the ArtMap Open Studios Directory

Associate Membership is open to anyone who wishes to be involved by interest or promote the interests of the group. Associate members will receive emails informing about workshops, gallery visits, private views and general committee meetings, Any Artist not meeting criteria for full membership or not wishing a page in the Open Studios Directory will be offered associate membership. Associate members may apply for full membership annually.

Annual Membership

Fees for full members 2010-2011 from 1st April 2010: £100.00 - £10.00 to be sent with application, £90.00 due when accepted for full membership
Fees for associate members 2010-2011 from 1st April 2010: £10.00

The final deadline for membership applications is 12th February 2010.

Applicants for full membership must send printed copies of their artist statement [ maximum 100 words], C.V and 6 recent images with detail of size, medium, date and title of each work. Alternatively images may be emailed and referral to website given. No images on disc will be accepted.

Applicants for full membership, please enclose £10.00 cheque payable to ArtMap Argyll, once accepted for full membership, we will require a Cheque for £90.00. Applicants for associate membership should send completed form together with £10.00
cheque payable to ArtMap Argyll.
